GEO Officer Elections Results
The results are in! Below are our new officers for 2020! In addition, we’re excited to announce that the constitutional amendment to add a Secretary position was passed. Our Officers pour so much of their time and energy ensuring that GEO is the strongest, baddest, most effective union that we can be -- go GEO Officers!
This election had a much higher turnout rate compared to previous elections--we had 217 voters! Given this, we are likely to continue to use online elections in the future. Have feedback about the elections process? Contact us.
Our Stewards Council conducted a separate, internal election to determine its Co-Chairs and Coordinating Committee Liaison, as per the GEO Constitution. If you are interested in becoming a Steward, contact our outgoing Stewards Co-Chairs, Rachel and Beau, at sc@uigeo.org.

Membership Bargaining Minimums Year 4 (2020-21) Survey:
Please fill out this brief Membership Bargaining Minimums Year 4 (2020-21) Survey to help the GEO Bargaining Team gauge where membership is at in terms of the numbers for our current wage reopener with University administration (see more info about the wage reopener here). Your responses will help the Bargaining Team gauge what an acceptable wage minimum agreement would look like between GEO and the UIUC Administration. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. We appreciate your participation!

Wage Bargaining Session 5:
Our next Wage Bargaining Session will be on Tuesday, June 2nd from 10 AM to 12 PM Central Time. Keep an eye out for an upcoming GEO-L with a registration link to attend the session online. In the meantime, attend the BT office hours and the GMM this week (info below)!
Bargaining Team Office Hours:
The Bargaining Team needs to hear from you! This week the bargaining team will be having office hours to hear from members about their thoughts on bargaining, as well as any questions members may have. Office hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 4pm to 6pm. No need to sign up, just join the meeting here or check out our social media for more information.
General Membership Meeting:
Our next GMM will be on Friday, May 29th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Central Time. We will be discussing GEO bargaining strategies and goals for our upcoming sessions. GEO bargains collectively, so our entire membership has the right to a voice! Join fellow members for smaller breakout sessions to share thoughts about current bargaining strategies and what the Bargaining Team should know going forward.
