LATE NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT
Per the terms of the Contract (Article IV. (D1)) between the GEO and the University, all Teaching Assistants (TAs), Graduate Assistants (GAs), Research Assistants (RAs), and Pre-professional Graduate Assistants (PGAs) with represented Fall and Spring appointments ought to receive their appointment letters at least thirty (30) calendar days before the start of the appointments.
In 2023, GEO won an increase of the penalty payment owed to represented TAs, GAs, and PGAs who receive late appointment letters without cause from $70 to $100. In 2025, RAs unionized with GEO and became eligible for this payment in 2026.
Please fill out this form if you believe that you are entitled to a penalty payment. A member of the Grievance Committee will follow up with you--please be patient!
